Caligula (37 - 41CE)

Caligula (16 March 37CE - 24 January 41CE). Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus was the youngest son of Germanicus and Agrippina Sr. and great grandson of both Mark Antony and Octavian. He acquired his nickname from the caligae (tiny military boots) he wore as a child. He is well known for his excesses and debaucheries. Soon after he became insane, less than 4 years since his ascension to the throne, he was murdered by the Praetorian Guard.
