Domitian (81 - 96CE)

Domitian (14 September, 81 - 18 September, 96CE). Titus Flavius Caesar Domitianus Augustus was the younger brother of Titus and was the third and last emperor of the Flavian Dynasty. He strengthened the economy by revaluing the coinage, increased the border defenses throughout the Empire, and initiated a rebuilding program for Rome. He viewed himself as a benevolent dictator and was popular with the people, but was considered a cruel and paranoid tyrant by the Senate. After his assassination on September 18, 96, his memory was condemned to oblivion by the Senate.
