Procopius (365 - 366CE)

Procopius (28 Sepember 365 - 27 May 366CE). Procopius was a general and kinsman of Julian II who usurped the throne in the East in September 365 by leading a rebellion in Constantinople. He initially was successful in battles against Valens, but was eventually defeated at the Battle of Thyatira. He fled the battlefield, but was betrayed by two of his followers. Valens had all three executed on May 27, 366.
