Vespasian (69 - 79CE)

Vespasian (21 December 69 - 23 June 79CE). Titus Flavius Caesar Vespanianus Augustus was a just and industrious ruler who repaired much of the damage caused by his predecessors. He was the fourth of the emperors in the year of the Four Emperors, having been declared Augustus by the Senate the day after Vitellius was defeated. He founded the Flavian Dynasty and was the first to be succeeded by his own son. Vespasian was deified by the Senate shortly after his death of a fever on June 23, 79.
