Victorinus (268 - 271CE)

Victorinus (268 - 271CE). Marcus Piavonius Victorinus became Augustus of the seceded Gallic Empire after he engineered the assassination of Marius. He was principally concerned with holding on to the secessionist provinces which tried to rejoin the Roman Empire. He was murdered by Attitianus, one of his officers whose wife he attempted to seduce, in early 271.
