Constantius I, Chlorus (305 - 306CE)

Constantius I, Chlorus (1 May 305 - 25 July 306CE). Marcus Flavius Valerius Constantius Herculius Augustus was the founder of the Constantinian Dynasty and father of Constantine I, the Great. He was formally appointed Caesar to Maximian, Augustus of the Western Empire, on March 1, 293. Of the four tetrarchs, he made the least effort in the persecution of Christians. He fell ill in 306 and recommended his son, Constantine, as his successor before his death.
