Geta (209- 19 December 212 CE). Publius Septimius Geta became Caesar Publius Septimius Geta Augustus upon ascension to the throne in 209. He ruled jointly with his father, Septimius Severus, and his brother, Caracalla, until his father's death in 211, then with his brother until he was assassinated on the order of his brother. He died in his mother's arms. During his reign, Geta persecuted and executed Christians, and built many pagan temples. His memory was damned (damnatio memoriae) by Caracalla upon his death.
