Gratian (4 August 367 - 25 August 383CE). Flavius Gratianus was the son of Valentinian I and Severa who was named Augustus when only 7 years old. He ruled the western half of the empire with his father until Valentinian's death in 375 when he became sole ruler. He also became ruler of the eastern half after the debacle at Adrianople, but named General Theodosius as ruler for those provinces. He was assassinated in Lyon on August 25, 383 while fleeing Magnus Maximus. He was deified after his death.
